Mario's Creamy Limoncello
2024 & 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Double Gold Winner
One sip of this subtly tangy, creamy limoncello—a velvety, cream-infused alternative to regular limoncello—will instantly transport you to Italy. We like to describe it as liquid ice cream as it has a rich decadent mouth feel that will keep you coming back for more.
Mario was 50 years old when he made his first batch of creamy limoncello. A recipe he remembers his mom making in the 1960's while living in the small coastal village of Spigno Saturnia on Italy's west coast, right in the center of the boot. It might have been his mom's original recipe. Maybe it was passed down to her from someone else. Who knows, really. But Mario eventually got it, and that's the point. This is creamy. Meant to be served cold. Just enough lemon for a zing. The kind of drink that keeps you cool in the summer and warms your ears in the winter. Made from small, handcrafted batches–a modest pour meant to be savored. Kinda like a lingering conversation with your favorite person, long after the sun has gone down. It's the perfect balance of sour & sweet, made with whole milk and a couple of other secret ingredients we'll never tell you about. Meant to be served cold, it can be kept at room temperature unopened but should be stored in the freezer after opening. Helpful tip: shake very well before placing in freezer to eliminate any separation! We also suggest shaking and placing the bottle in the freezer a few hours before you first crack it open as it will be dangerously delicious icy cold!
So, go ahead—take a trip to Italy without leaving your couch. This treat was made just for you, and trust us, your taste buds will thank you. Cheers to celebrating life with a little Italian-inspired indulgence!
