Everything people ask us most often, in one place — ordering and shipping, visiting the distillery, and what’s actually in the bottle. If your question isn’t here, call us on 412-737-1840 or email info@mclaughlindistillery.com and a person will answer.
Ordering & Shipping Craft Spirits
We ship to most U.S. states and Washington, D.C. We currently cannot ship to Alaska, Alabama, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina or Utah.
Pennsylvania’s liquor laws mean in-state and out-of-state orders are handled differently. If you’re in Pennsylvania, order from our PA store for in-state shipping or distillery pickup. Everywhere else, use our nationwide store. Customers in D.C., New Hampshire, Nebraska and North Dakota should also use the PA store.
Orders placed through the nationwide store are processed and fulfilled through our retail partner, Big Thirst, Inc.
Orders through the nationwide store ship roughly once a month, so allow two to four weeks. Anything marked presale is available to buy now and ships with the next scheduled delivery. In-state orders move faster — call us on 412-737-1840 if you need something by a particular date.

About Our Craft Spirits
More than forty spirits, all from scratch on site: bourbon, rye and flavored whiskey, twenty-two flavored moonshines, vodka and clear spirits, and a range of cream liqueurs.
Yes. Grain comes in, we mash it, ferment it, distill it and fill the barrels here. Nothing is bought in and relabeled.
Bourbon is a type of whiskey. To be bourbon it has to be made in the US from at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak. Whiskey is the wider family that also covers rye, scotch and others.
Unaged grain spirit, traditionally corn-based. It’s clear because it never went into a barrel — all of whiskey’s color and much of its flavor comes from the wood.
The whiskey went into the bottle at the strength it came out of the barrel, with no water added. It’s fuller and more intense, and a few drops of water will open it up.
It varies by product, and the strength is shown on each bottle and product page. Call 412-737-1840 if you need a figure before ordering.
All of our spirits are made with 100% corn and are gluten-free, with the exception of our rye whiskey offerings.
Yes. They’re made with real cream.
Whiskey, vodka and moonshine keep upright at room temperature, out of direct sun. Cream liqueurs need refrigerating once opened.
Yes, and it’s legal — you’re not distilling. Our barrel kits come filled with our own 125-proof bourbon base.
When we have them. They go quickly, and they’re listed under Barrels, Classes, Gift Cards & More.
